"Objet D'art"

Why don't we see the blanks between frames of film or video for that matter? Some attribute it to Persistence of Vision. Others to the fact that the black is a short enough moment of Nothing that we don't register its passing. Objet D'art embraces the pause, the black, the moments of nothing, and uses it to possibly give for those who care to see, the after-image.

The repeated gesture in the video of the exposed neck, the tilt of the head, the ultimate reveal of a face unadorned by a defining hair-do, speaks to the dream of having with us forever those who no longer are in our lives. This was the inspiration for this piece.
Paul washes our hair at the edges of the frame, as we will one day feel the tremor of his touch when he is no longer with us.
Gobolux is an artband. Its members, Andrew Nelson and Kim Su Theiler, create video/audio pieces as opposed to songs. The "song" might be an installation such as Untitled 1: Trompe L'oeil as seen in the 2003 Oslo Open or a single channel piece such as Objet d'Arte.
Om årets julekalender
Julekalenderen på Oslo Sentralstasjon er i år laget av kunstneren Katinka Maraz og har tittelen Ventetid.
På fasaden til Oslo S forteller Katinka Maraz noe om hva ventetid kan være gjennom store fotografier. Ventetid er i seg selv en ambivalent tilstand som kan oppleves som positiv og inneholde en kriblende forventning. Den kan også oppleves som lang, kjedelig, urolig og gjøre at man føler seg fortapt mellom to tilstander.
Ved Inngang Nord på Oslo S og på nettstedet du nå besøker, presenterer Katinka Maraz ulike arbeider knyttet til temaet ventetid sammen med 23 inviterte kunstnere. Tradisjonen tro vil en ny kunstner bli presentert daglig i tidsrommet 1.– 24. desember.
